Apple eliminates GPL Applications!

GPL

I was reading my monthly Linux User, and found this information very interesting. The conflct that Apple has wi th (GPL) is unfortunate. The article read:

“Apple has ditched GNU General public license (GPL) software from its App store.”

The Application store has a TOS that stares each application sold must only be licensed for use on a single device. Which is great, it eliminates Applications from being on 3rd party providers. Which will make Apple products that more elite in their idea of products.

This brings up alot of issues though. This licence conflicts with VLC media player. On January 7th, the Apple attorney had stated that VLC was removed from the App store.

Apples stance on eliminating GPL Applications may have a harder push to individuals to staart using open source innovations such as Android and other Linux-based mobile Plateforms.

What are you ideas on the topic? Lets get a discussion going!
