Something not everyone thinks about or might know. So i decided to investigate it for myself. After some research, F5 gives you the same page even if the content on the site changed. This is because it may load the page from the cache. With Ctrl-F5 this forces a refresh in the cache. It will ensure that if the content has changed you will be viewing the latest content of the site.

According to the top contributers list on LWN.net Microsoft developer K. Y. Srinivasan has put in 343 changes in the current developers cycle for linux 3.0.

Microsoft together provided 361 changes as well. Putting microsoft in 7th place of companies and groups who contribute to the development of the linux kernel.

In the aforementioned list, Srinivasan comes in at the top because he made a lot of minor changes. And that's exactly what kernel developers want; a change that only affects a single line counts as much as a giant change that is a megabyte in size.

What do you guys think about Microsoft being so involved in the linux community. Do you think it changes anything about the current OS’s that microsoft developes?
